PUPPY APPLICATION

Thank you for your interest in bringing a Northwoods Doberman into your family. ❤️🐾

At Northwoods Dobermans, our goal has never been to place puppies with just anyone who is willing to purchase one. Our goal is to find the right home for each puppy and the right puppy for each family.

Because of that, our application and approval process is an important part of what we do.

IMPORTANT APPLICATION UPDATE

Effective October 7, 2026, a separate $100 nonrefundable application and approval fee is required for all puppy applications.

Here is how the process works:

1. Complete and submit your puppy application.
2. After your application is submitted, we will send you a request for the $100 application and approval fee.
3. Once the fee is received, we will begin processing your application.
4. We will review your application, contact references, ask any necessary follow up questions, and communicate with you throughout the approval process.
5. Once approved, we can discuss available puppies, upcoming litters, placement options and the next steps toward reserving your Northwoods puppy.

APPLICATION FEE

The $100 application and approval fee covers the time and work involved in reviewing your application and completing our approval process.

The fee is separate from the puppy deposit and purchase price. It does not reserve a puppy and is not applied toward your deposit or the purchase price of your puppy.

The fee is nonrefundable if you are not approved, decide not to move forward, or your circumstances change.

WHY DO WE HAVE AN APPLICATION FEE?

Approving a family for one of our puppies involves much more than reading an application.

We take the time to learn about your family, lifestyle, expectations, children, other pets, experience with dogs, plans for training and veterinary care, and what you are looking for in your next Doberman.

We contact references and have conversations with prospective families so we can get to know you beyond what is written on an application.

We are also always willing to research and help future owners locate trainers, veterinarians, emergency veterinary clinics and other resources in their area. We are currently compiling a list of trusted resources to help our future owners get started with the support they need after bringing their puppy home.

This process takes considerable time, and our time is valuable.

The application fee also helps ensure that submitting an application represents a genuine interest in going through our approval process rather than simply filling one out on a whim after seeing a cute puppy online.

A NORTHWOODS PUPPY IS A COMMITMENT

We encourage every potential owner to take their time, ask questions and do their research before applying.

A Doberman is a long term commitment, and we want you to be confident that this breed is right for your family and that Northwoods Dobermans is the right breeder for you.

You are welcome to ask questions before submitting an application. We want you to make an informed decision.

Once you are ready to apply, we ask that you be prepared to genuinely participate in our approval process.

APPROVAL AND PUPPY RESERVATIONS

Our application is designed to help us determine whether one of our puppies may be a good fit for your family.

Approval does not guarantee that a particular puppy will be available to you, nor does it reserve a puppy.

Puppy reservations are handled separately after approval and require a separate puppy deposit.

We carefully consider each application individually. Our priority is always the well being of our puppies and finding loving, responsible and appropriate homes where they can thrive.
